Juniors

Juniors are welcomed at Shalimar as we strive to better the future of our community and society. Junior and family friendly, we encourage families to enjoy the great game golf and instill basic human life skills while playing golf. With this goal in mind, Shalimar emphasizes and enforces 3 basic rules - play golf fast, safe & with courtesy.

A kid grows up a lot faster on the golf course; golf teaches you how to behave. You start playing with older people so that a kid who plays golf is different from a lot of athletes in other sports because he hasn't had his own way. He hasn't been spoiled. ~ Jack Nicklaus

Our spring and summer Junior Developmental Golf Programs are back again. Join us in May and June for these great programs.
We have junior instruction programs, reduced junior greens fees, junior golf events, JGAA events, summer junior memberships, Cliff Whittle Cup matches, SWSPGA junior golf events, junior golf clubs and gloves - everything you need for the younger players. The Mandi Luck Memorial Junior Match Play Tournament is an annual favorite as it emphasizes the integrity of the game and remembers two wonderful young people who are no longer with us - Mandi Luck and Jim Erickson (with the Jim Erickson Trophy).

Pictured to the right is a photo of the participants in the 2009 Mandi Luck Memorial Junior Championship. This year's Champion is Dylan Busch. The Jim Erickson Trophy went to Parker Lippold and the Mandi Luck Integrity Award went to Chelsie Peterson.
